Why is homework important?

  • At Bottisham Community Primary School we believe children should be given the opportunity to extend their learning by working at home.
  • To be valuable, homework needs to be part of a wider partnership between parents and school.
  • We believe that, by setting homework, we extend opportunities for parents and children to work together to enjoy learning experiences.
  • As children move through the school, we encourage them to develop independent strategies and take responsibility for their own learning, in preparation for transfer to secondary school.
