Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is given to schools to provide additional support for children from low income
families, children who are looked after and children with parents who are in the Services. The
purpose of the funding is to narrow the attainment gap between pupils from disadvantaged or
disrupted backgrounds and other pupils. The Pupil Premium is paid direct to schools and they
decide how best to use the funding to ensure the best impact on pupils’ attainment and
achievement. School leaders are held accountable for the impact of the Pupil Premium.
